
Wranglers Snip Steelheads In Midnight Game, 3-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) (12-14-4, 27 Points) defeated the Idaho Steelheads (22-7-2, 46 Points) 3-1 in front of 4,603 fans Tuesday night at the Orleans Arena. Forward Mick Lawrence scored twice, and Kyle Hagel netted the game-winning goal for Las Vegas in their third consecutive win. Goalie Michael Ouzas stopped 18 of 19 shots to improve to 9-11-2 this season. Defenseman Brad Miller tallied the lone Steelheads goal. Idaho goalie Richard Bachman made 27 saves in the loss. The Wranglers will take on the Utah Grizzlies Saturday, January 2nd, at 7:05 p.m. at the Orleans Arena.
Las Vegas opened the scoring 11:16 into the first period with a goal from left wing Mick Lawrence. Lawrence snapped in a rebound for his ninth goal on the season to give the Wranglers the 1-0 lead.
In the second period, Idaho evened the score with a tally from defenseman Brad Miller at 6:50. Miller hopped out of the penalty box and snapped in his third goal on the season to tie the game at 1-1. The Wranglers pulled ahead at 17:25 of the middle frame, with forward Kyle Hagel's fourth goal on the year. Defenseman Jason Krischuk and Captain Chris Neiszner set up Hagel for the 2-1 Las Vegas lead heading into the second intermission.
With just ten seconds remaining in the final period, Lawrence snapped the puck into the vacant Idaho net for his second goal of the night, and the 3-1 Las Vegas win.
