Cyclones Announce North Division Finals Dates

April 16, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced their home dates for the North Division Finals series that will take place against either Elmira or Reading. The series will begin either April 24 or 25 on the road. The Cyclones have advanced to the North Division Finals by virtue of sweeping Johnstown in four games during the semifinals series. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

This marks the second straight season that the Cyclones have advanced to the North Division Finals. Last season, after sweeping Toledo in the semifinals-Cincinnati lost in seven games to Dayton.

Due to scheduling conflicts at U.S. Bank Arena, games one and two will be played on the road. This is a flip of the opening dates traditionally being played at the top seed's home. The next three games (game three, Monday, April 28; game four, Wednesday, April 30 and game five, if necessary, Thursday, May 1) would be played in Cincinnati. A sixth game, if needed, would be played at either Elmira or Reading on Saturday, May 3 and should a seventh game be required, it would be played at U.S. Bank Arena on Monday, May 5 at 7:30pm. The Cyclones maintain home ice advantage-receiving four potential home games-under this format.

Game three (Monday, April 28) will be game ‘C' for season ticket holders and they should use that ticket for admission to that contest. Game four (Wednesday, April 30) of that series, is ticket ‘D' for season ticket holders. If a fifth game is needed-that would be the ‘E' ticket in the package. The seventh game would be ticket ‘F'. Should games not be played in the round-ticket holders are asked to keep their tickets, as they would be used in the following round. The winner of the North Division Finals series will advance to play the winner of the South Division playoffs for the American Conference title and a berth in the Kelly Cup Finals.

The Cyclones (55-12-5) were the North Division, American Conference and Brabham Cup (best overall ECHL regular season record) champions. That was the best single season in club history and tied the league record for road wins (26). The schedule of games in the series is listed below:
