April 16, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Augusta Lynx News Release

The Augusta Lynx battled hard to the end, but ultimately home ice paid off and was the difference for the South Carolina Stingrays as they defeated the Augusta Lynx in the fifth and deciding game of their South Division Quarterfinal series, 3-1. The Stingrays scored once in the 1st period and once in the 2nd period, both off the stick of Stephen Werner to take a 2-0 lead to the lockerroom after two periods.

Surprise starter #35 JP Levasseur was great in goal for the Lynx, making several stops to keep his team in the game. The Lynx got on the board to make it 2-1 early in the 3rd period with a goal from #17 Anthony Battaglia. At the end of the 3rd period, the Lynx pulled Levasseur in favor of the extra attacker, but could not convert as Trent Campbell added an empty-net goal to cement the series for the 'Rays. For the Lynx, it ends their 10th anniversary season. A complete season wrap-up will be posted later in the week.
