Cyclones Announce Horton As PA Announcer

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, announced that Paul Horton will serve as the public address announcer for the upcoming season.

Horton is known throughout the Cincinnati area for his work as the morning meteorologist for WXIX-TV 19. Paul also works during the baseball season as the Fan-Cam host for the Cincinnati Reds. In addition, he also hosts a radio show on Saturday nights for Q-102 FM. He has hockey public address experience, having served as the arena voice of the Portland WinterHawks of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Horton will announce most of the in-game information as it develops.

"Not only do I enjoy forecasting weather, I'm looking forward to having hockey return to Cincinnati," Horton said. "It's going to be great to be a part of this fresh start for hockey in the Queen City."

Dennis 'Wildman' Walker will also have serve as an announcer at U.S. Bank Arena. In his expanded role, he will handle the 'Montreal Minute' and post-game interviews on the videoboard and game analysis between periods. Wildman will be located on a platform ('Wildman's Lair'-adjacent to the Value City 'Best Seat In The House') behind one of the goals to closely monitor the action for his reports. Walker has been connected with the Cyclones dating back to the original ECHL club back in 1990-91. A member of the WEBN 'Dawn Patrol', his trademark phrase 'Let's Play Hockey' at the start of the game will once again be heard this season.

All 72 regular season Cincinnati Cyclones games can be heard on the club's website www.cycloneshockey.com. The Cincinnati Cyclones are an affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Montreal Canadiens.

The Cyclones begin the 2006-07 season on Friday night, October 20 against Pensacola at U.S. Bank Arena.
