'Blades announce promotional items for home games

ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades 2006-07 home schedule is once again loaded with promotional items, and special events for their fans! The festivities kick off on opening night when the Everblades begin the 2006-07 season on October 20 vs. the Texas Wildcatters. Fans arriving at Germain Arena will be greeted to a red carpet entrance and once inside will receive an Everblades rally towel.
The more popular promotions are back once again this season with the Everblades handing out items such as magnetic schedules, team photos, team calendars and the popular player card sets. This seasons bobble head giveaway will feature fan favorite Ernie Hartlieb's likeness, and the Everblades will once again hold at least two game-worn jersey auctions.
In addition to the old favorites, the Everblades will have some new events happening at Germain Arena. October 28 will be an exciting night as the Everblades will pay tribute to the Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes by wearing special Hurricanes jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. In addition, the Stanley Cup will be on hand that night for fans to see and get their picture taken with.
Also new this season will be the "Puck Toss" Contest. Every Saturday night fans will have a chance to win an autographed Everblades jersey by tossing a foam puck through the sunroof of a Saturn car on the ice. The Everblades will also be turning back to clock to the decade of hair bands and break-dancing with their 80's Night! Fans will be encouraged to come to that game dressed as their favorite 80's character! The best dressed characters will participate in an on-ice judging contest.
"We are very excited to bring Everblades fans a new level of excitement and energy." Everblades Director of Sales Nathan Gosline said. "In addition to our exciting lineup of promotional items, we are revamping everything from the music to the intermission contests along with the pre-game show. Fans will be treated to many things they've never seen before at an Everblades game. It's going to be a great year both on and off the ice and we're looking forward to kicking it off on October 20th!"
