(West Haven, CT- August 2, 2004) The New Haven County Cutters and flagship station WMRD (AM 1150, Middletown, CT) have announced a partnership that will bring every weekend game through the rest of the season to the airwaves.

"WMRD has been a great partner in this first year of Cutters baseball," said Cutters Broadcaster Ryan Smith. "Their track record of providing an outlet for Minor League baseball in Connecticut is so storied that we are honored to now be a part of that tradition."

The following games will be on AM 1150: August 7th (7:05), 14th (7:00),15th (2:05), 21st (7:05), 22nd (2:05), 28th (7:05), 29th (1:05) and September 4th (7:05), 5th (2:05), 6th (2:05). All games will begin with a pre-game show, hosted by Joe Buono, starting 15 minutes before scheduled first pitch.

All remaining games, weekday and weekend, are available on the internet through cuttersbaseball.com. The Cutters stream their broadcasts through the internet company Broadcastmonsters. The New Haven broadcasts rank 2nd highest, behind the Brockton Rox, of the Northeast League teams that use the service. Out of the 61 clients utilizing the service currently, the Cutters rank 20th overall with an average of 3,750 people a month logging on.

"It's great to see that our fans are out there and listening," said Smith. "I hope the fans are having as much fun tuning in to the games as we do broadcasting them."

Monday, August 2, 2004 will serve as Bobblection Night, sending baseball fans to the polls in seven different ballparks. Fans will choose between a John Kerry or a George W. Bush bobble-head doll. The candidate's doll that runs out first will be declared the winner of that ballpark. From New Haven to Minnesota, South Dakota to Florida, the event will be an early indicator in this Presidential election year.

The Charleston (SC) RiverDogs, Fort Myers (FL) Miracle, Hudson Valley (NY) Renegades, St. Paul (MN) Saints, Brockton (MA) Rox, and Sioux Falls (SD) Canaries have teamed up to provide the country with a unique campaign event. The New Haven (CT) County Cutters, who play in the home ballpark of Yale University, the alma mater of both Presidential candidates and the field President Bush played on for the Bulldogs, have agreed to participate as well.
