
Cutters Drop Heartbreaker

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
Williamsport could not hold on to a four-run lead, falling 6-5 on a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th inning.
The Crosscutters belted three home runs in the loss, the most they have hit in a single game this season. The home runs came from Edwin Rodriguez, Matt Kroon and Matt Vierling.
Vierling recorded his seventh multiple hit night of the season, finishing 2 for 4 with the home run and a RBI.
Ben Pelletier was the only other Cutters with a multi-hit night, finishing 2 for 4 with a double.
Ethan Lindow pitched well, allowing one run over five innings of work. The southpaw allowed four hits, a walk and struck out two, but failed to factor into the decision.
The Cutters bullpen allowed five runs on nine hits, while walking three and striking out four. Luis Ramirez suffered his second blown save of the season and his third loss, allowing the walk off single that plated the tying and winning runs to score.
