Brooklyn Bats Strong, But Vermont Wins 14-7

BURLINGTON, VT - Jose Medina and Chase Chambers each had three hits, but the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Short Season, Class A affiliate of the New York Mets fell 14-7 to the Vermont Lake Monsters Thursday night in the opener of a three-game series at Centennial Field.

BIG MOMENTS

- Chase Chambers went 3-6, driving in a pair of runs in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to 14-6.

- Vermont erased a 3-1 deficit, clawing back with a six-run second and a six-run third inning. Three-run doubles by Alfonso Rivas and Anthony Churlin highlighted the damage.

- Brooklyn jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first scoring on Wagner Lagrange's RBI single, and Nick Meyer's RBI fielder's choice.
