Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA, PA - The Altoona Curve and the State College Spikes do not have the opportunity to meet on the field. However, for the fourth year in a row Curve fans and Spikes fans will get the chance to compete in the Fourth Annual "Blood Battle of the Ballparks."
Blood Battle of the Ballparks is a blood drive for the American Red Cross and will be held August 10-12 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. each of the three days at the Casino at Lakemont Park.
All donors throughout the three day drive will receive a free General Admission ticket to an Altoona Curve home game for any remaining 2009 home game excluding the season finale on September 3 or in April or May of 2010 excluding the 2010 home opener. Presenting donors will also be entered into a raffle for a Curve "goodie basket" with the winner being selected on the final day of the blood drive.
Currently, Curve fans hold a 2-1 advantage in the drive's three year history, but the Spikes were victorious in 2008 and currently hold the "Blood Cup". To schedule your appointment call 1-800-GIVE LIFE or visit www.givelife.org.
