Curve lose on walkoff home run

TRENTON, NJ - Daniel Moskos put together his best outing of the 2009, but Altoona could not hold on to a 3-1 lead as Trenton rallied for four runs in the eighth and ninth for a 5-3 win at Waterfront Park Saturday night.
Moskos got the better of a pitcher's duel against Christian Garcia. Moskos matched his season long start with 6.1 innings and allowed just one run on five hits.
Through four innings the two teams had combined for only two hits, but in the fifth Curve first baseman Hector Gimenez jacked his fourth home run of the season to put Altoona up 1-0.
Trenton would tie the score in the bottom half of the fifth on a single by shortstop Justin Snyder.
Altoona regained the lead in the sixth when catcher Steve Lerud singled home Jim Negrych and in the seventh Jason Delaney would come off the bench for pinch-hit solo home run and the Curve led 3-1.
Trenton would get back into the game in the eighth when Noah Hall doubled home two runs to even the game at three. In the bottom of the ninth it was Snyder again this time going deep off of Curve reliever Shawn Nottingham to end Saturday's contest.
The Curve (15-33) will hope to avoid being swept Sunday afternoon in the series finale. Left hander Kyle Bloom (0-2, 5.19) will get the start for Altoona and Zach Mcallister (3-2, 1.91) will be on the mound for Trenton. Sunday's game begins at 1:05 p.m. with radio coverage beginning at 12:50 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network.
