Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Aeros made a roster move today, as LHP Chuck Lofgren was promoted to Class AAA Columbus and RHP Steven Wright has returned to Akron from the Clippers.
Lofgren was one of the best pitchers in the Eastern League through the first two months of the year, as the native of Burlingame, CA was 3-1 with a league-leading 1.48 ERA through eight starts. He had not allowed more than two runs in any of his starts this year, led the Aeros with five quality starts, and was holding opponents to a .160 batting average.
Wright opened the season in the Akron rotation before being shifted to a relief role after three starts. He has pitched in nine games overall for the Aeros, going 3-0 with a 2.86 ERA in 28.1 innings. He went up to Columbus May 24th and made two relief appearances for the Clippers, allowing three runs and five hits in 5.2 innings.
