Altoona Curve News Release

The Altoona Curve put up its second ten-run ninth inning of the season against the Harrisburg Senators on Saturday night at Metro Bank Park, and went on to beat the Senators 18-6. The loss dropped the Senators to 60-54, and increased their deficit to Altoona in the Eastern League's Western Division to 6.5 games. They remain 2.5 games back of the second playoff spot in the Western Division.

Tanner Roark (0-1) made his first start for the Senators, after coming over in a trade last weekend from the Texas Rangers organization, and gave up three earned runs in six innings. He took the loss, but most of the damage done by the Curve came against the Senators bullpen, including the ten runs in the ninth inning. Altoona sent fourteen men to the plate in that inning, and banged out ten hits. They had 22 on the game, versus nine for the Senators. Bryan Morris (6-4) earned the win for the Curve (66-47), as he allowed just two runs in six innings. Michael Dubee picked up his third save. Offensively for the Senators, Brad Coon had three hits, including a triple, while Adam Fox and Devin Ivany each homered. Fox was the only Senator to drive in multiple runs, as his homer was a two-run shot.

The weekend series is now tied at one game apiece, with game three set for Sunday evening at 6 PM. Left-hander Aaron Thompson (4-11, 5.69) starts for the Sens in that one, against LHP Justin Wilson (9-6, 3.13). Fans can hear all the action by tuning in to 1460 AM The Ticket or logging on to www.senatorsbaseball.com, beginning with the pregame show at 5:45 PM.
