Crunch Stifle Sens in Preseason Finale

Binghamton, NY - The Syracuse Crunch defeated the Binghamton Senators tonight, 2-0 at the Brome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Crunch came out looking to wrap up their preseason with a winning record and got off to a very good start with a power play goal nine minutes into the first frame.

After peppering Binghamton starter Jeff Glass, Ryan Garlock cashed in by getting to a rebound chance from a Kyle Wharton point shot and buried it past the fourth year pro. The goal was Garlock's first of the preseason.

The Crunch outshot Binghamton by a 20-8 margin in the first period.

Syracuse jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 1:45 into the second stanza.

Jon Mirasty sprung right wing Petr Pohl on a breakaway. Pohl faked to his backhand and tucked a shot between the right arm and body of Glass for the two-goal lead.

The B-Sens doubled up the Crunch on shots in the second frame with a 12-6 advantage, but could not break through on Crunch starter Sebastian Dahm.

The Crunch held down the fort defensively in the third period and came away with the 2-0 win. Dahm earned had 36 saves and took home the shutout victory.
