Crunch down B-Sens in final preseason game

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators fired 36 shots at Crunch netminder Sebastian Dahm, but were unable to find the back of the net as Syracuse handed the B-Sens a 2-0 loss on Saturday night at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

Syracuse came out strong, firing 20 shots at netminder Jeff Glass in the opening period. Ryan Garlock notched the lone goal of the period, a power-play tally at 9:06. John Mirasty tapped a pass behind Jeff Glass to an open Garlock at the left post, where he tapped it home.

Petr Pohl added the second goal for Syracuse. The winger deeked right before going to the backhand over the blocker of Glass.

Glass stopped 34 shots in the losing effort, while the B-Sens power-play unit was 0-5 on the night.

With the preseason schedule now complete, the B-Sens focus on the regular season opener in Toronto on Friday, Oct. 10. Binghamton skates in its first regular season home game on Friday, Oct. 17 against Syracuse.
