Admirals Top Chicago in Pre-Season Action

Milwaukee, WI-- The Milwaukee Admirals used four power-play goals, including three in the second period, to help lift them to a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Wolves in pre-season action at the Kern Center on the campus of the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The win for the Ads completes a home-and-home series sweep over the Wolves in both teams only exhibition action of the season.

Milwaukee got on the board first when Mike Santorelli lit the lamp just 3:32 into the game. The Admirals would make it 2-0 less than two minutes later on a Cody Franson power-play tally at 5:27 of the opening stanza.

The Admirals picked up PPGs in the second period by Kelsey Wilson, Donny Grover, and Ian McKenzie to help them extend their lead to 5-1. Jeff Prough tallied Chicago's lone goal of the game at 8:05 of the second period.

Milwaukee finished the evening 4-for-12 on the power play, while the Wolves were couldn't convert on eight chances with a man-advantage.

Drew MacIntyre went the distance in net for the Admirals, stopping 18 Chicago shots to earn the victory. Grover (1g-1a), Franson (1g-1a), Mike Santorelli (1g-1a), and Robert Dietrich (2a) each picked up two points to pace the Milwaukee offense.

Milwaukee will open the regular season with three road games, including the regular season opener next Saturday night in San Antonio, before commencing the home portion of their schedule on Saturday, October 18th at 7:30 pm against the Rockford IceHogs at the Bradley Center.
