Chicago Wolves News Release

MILWAUKEE---The Chicago Wolves fell behind early and never recovered, suffering an eventual 5-1 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals in their final preseason game at the Milwaukee School of Engineering's Kern Center Saturday night.

The lone tally for Chicago (0-2) came from forward Jeff Prough, who made the score 3-1 at 8:05 of the middle frame. Left wing Tomas Pospisil picked the puck up after a turnover, circled behind the net and sent a pass to Prough who drilled a one-timer past Admirals goaltender Drew MacIntyre.

Milwaukee (2-0) got on the board first with a marker from left wing Mike Santorelli, 3:32 into the game. Matt Beaudoin fired a pass from the right circle to Santorelli in the slot. Chicago netminder Dan Turple made the initial save, but Santorelli gathered the rebound and slipped it in.

The Admirals made their lead two on the power play, 5:27 into the opening frame. Cody Franson sent a wrister at the net from the left point, which found it's way past a screened Turple.

Turple (0-1) stopped 18 of 23 shots in the loss, while Milwaukee goaltender Drew MacIntyre posted 18 saves for the Admirals.

Milwaukee padded its lead to three with a man-advantage tally from left wing Kelsey Wilson when he gathered a rebound and beat Turple from the right circle at 7:35 of the second period.

The Admirals added to their lead when defenseman Donny Grover streaked towards the net and beat Turple high to the stick side at 12:34.

Milwaukee rounded out the scoring with its fourth power-play tally of the night at the 14:27 mark of the second stanza. Right wing Ian McKenzie was stationed at the far post and banged home a pass from Franson past Turple.

The Wolves open their 15th regular season with a matchup against the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center on Sat., Oct. 11.
