Crunch Sign Peter Holland and Igor Bobkov

Syracuse, NY (April 5, 2011) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they have signed center Peter Holland and goaltender Igor Bobkov each to an amateur tryout contract.

Holland, 20, appeared in 67 games with Guelph (OHL) this season, finishing third on the club and 10th in the league in scoring with 88 points (37g, 51a). In addition, Holland added 10 points (3g, 7a) in the Storm's first-round playoff series against Saginaw. He was selected to play in the 2009 OHL All-Star Classic and participated in the 2009 Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Top Prospects Game. Holland also represented Team Canada at the 2009 Under-18 World Championship in Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Holland was selected by Anaheim in the first round, 15th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Bobkov, 20, appeared in 21 games with London (OHL) this season, going 4-10-0 with a 4.12 goals against average and .874 save percentage. In addition, Bobkov won a gold medal with Team Russia at the 2011 World Junior Championship in Buffalo, NY. Bobkov appeared in 14 games with Magnitogorsk of the Russian junior league in 2009-10, going 8-1 with a 2.71 goals against average and two shutouts. A native of Surgut, Russia, Bobkov was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 76th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch finish off their home schedule with a pair of games against Norfolk on Thursday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.
