
Rivermen Sign Goaltender Beau Erickson

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald has announced that the club has signed goaltender Beau Erickson to a professional tryout contract (PTO).
Erickson, 25, completed the season with the ECHL Ontario Reign and appeared in 29 games this year. He posted an 11-12-1-2 record along with a 3.39 goals-against average and a 0.906 save-percentage. Last season, the 6-foot-1-inch, 180-pound goalie saw action in one AHL game with the Portland Pirates. He came in for the third period and allowed one goal on seven shots in an eventual 5-2 loss to Lowell on April 10, 2010.
In two professional seasons, Erickson has appeared in 58 ECHL contests and collected a record of 22-22-3-5with a 3.19 GAA. Aside from Ontario, he has played for South Carolina, Utah and Reading in the ECHL.
A native of Hinton, Iowa, Erickson played three seasons of college hockey at the University of Connecticut (2006-09). He served as an alternate captain during the 2008-09 season and in 2007-08 was selected second-team all-conference (Atlantic Hockey) and established team record for saves in a single season (947), for UConn.
Peoria will play their final three games of the regular season on home ice, beginning on Wednesday against the Texas Stars at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 309-676-1040 and online through www.rivermen.net.
