Crosscutters Donate Over $20k to Charities

In the first week of the 2011 season, the Williamsport Crosscutters and their fans have raised over $20,000 for area charities.

On Opening Night (June 17) the Crosscutters donated $412, which represents 50 cents from every ticket sold that evening at the box office, to Minor League Baseball Charities to aid in relief efforts in the states hit by tornados and floods in recent months.

On Saturday, June 25 over 200 area runner took part in the 1st Annual Cutters 5K Run, sponsored by the Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, which resulted in a $15,000 donation to the Children's Development Center in Williamsport.

At the June 25 game against the Batavia MuckDogs, the team held Military Appreciation Night presented by Williamsport Masonic Lodges #106 & #397. During the game, Crosscutters players and coaches wore special limited edition "military-style" jerseys that were auctioned off, silent auction style during the game, to fans. The auction raised over $3,900 for the Master Sgt. Sean Thomas Foundation and over $700 for Masonic charities.

During the 2010 season the Crosscutters donated over $80,000 in cash, tickets and merchandise to local charities and non-profit groups.
