The Crawdads pounded out 18 hits and scored 18 runs in the first five innings. A two-run homer by Ed Koncel put Hickory in front in the first inning. In the second, a three-run homer by Cristian Santana followed by a solo shot from Mike Ortiz capped a five-run inning to give Hickory a 7-0 lead. Jared Prince added a two-run homer in the fourth for the Crawdads, who finished the game with 20 hits.

Lexington Christian Academy graduate Robbie Ross earned his eighth win of the season after working the first six innings. He allowed five hits and one run, ending a streak of 27 innings in which Ross (8-4) had allowed no earned runs. Ross is now tied for the South Atlantic League in wins.

Lexington starter David Duncan (3-2), who was relieved with two outs in the second inning, was the losing pitcher.
