(York, Pa.): Country music star Steve Holy will perform for Revs fans as part of WGTY's Country Concert on Saturday July 18 at Sovereign Bank Stadium, it was announced today. The renowned artist will take the stage in a postgame concert in the Brooks Robinson Plaza, following the Revs home game scheduled for 12 p.m. on July 18, the front end of that day's two-city doubleheader between the York Revolution and the Lancaster Barnstormers.

Holy has two big hits that have reached Number 1 on the charts, "Good Morning Beautiful" and "Brand New Girlfriend", the videos of which can be viewed by clicking:

The concert is also part of a growing list of top performers to come to the ballpark, joining the likes of Blues Traveler who performed at Sovereign Bank Stadium last season.

"We're excited to have someone of Steve's caliber here at the ballpark," said Greg Vojtanek, Revs Director of Marketing & Promotions. "I'm sure our fans will enjoy his multiple Number 1 hits. WGTY, the Revolution, and Steve himself want to make this an unforgettable show."

Holy launched his career, signing with Nashville label Curb Records, with his debut single "Don't Make Me Beg", released in October 1999. Holy followed his debut with two more Top 20 singles, before his career took off with his first Number 1 hit, "Good Morning Beautiful." Not only did the track reach Number 1 on the charts, but it was also featured in the Jennifer Lopez movie Angel Eyes.

Holy followed "Good Morning Beautiful" with several popular singles, and reached Number 1 again in 2006 with "Brand New Girlfriend". He followed that with a full album titled "Brand New Girlfriend" on Curb Records.

One of Holy's "big breaks" came when he won a competition of among 500 hopefuls on the Johnnie High Country Revue in Arlington, Texas, the same show that would later propel Curb recording artists LeAnn Rimes and Shane McAnally into star status. Holy won the competition, and was voted entertainer of the year by fans that same year. He spent several years performing in his home state of Texas, including three years performing at the Miss Texas Pageant, before gaining national recognition as a country music star when he signed with Curb Records.

All tickets for the 2009 season are now on sale.
