Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Meeting tonight for the fifth time over a span of 20 days, the Kalamazoo Wings will tangle with the Bloomington PrairieThunder. With a record of 5-2-0-1 Kalamazoo leads the season series against Bloomington. After tonight, the two teams will not square off again until Friday, February 22nd.
Defending their home ice, Kalamazoo is on a four-game unbeaten streak at Wings Stadium (2-0-1-1), with both wins occurring against Bloomington. Currently in fourth, the K-Wings are trying to avoid a log jam in the standings. Kalamazoo is two points ahead of Muskegon and three behind Port Huron.
Bloomington has positioned themselves for a midseason push in the IHL standings. With 27 points, the Thunder are in sixth place, but are seven points behind Muskegon. Proving they are for real, Bloomington defeated the first place Fort Wayne Komets 5-4 this past Wednesday night.
