Komets stone Fury 3-0, Reiter snags 2nd SO of season

Fort Wayne, IN 1/11/08 --- The Komets held the visiting Muskegon Fury scoreless Friday night 3-0 and extended their home winning streak to seven games.

Goaltender Kevin Reiter posted his second shutout of the season making 15 saves in his ninth consecutive start. It was Reiter's thirteenth win of the season and sixth straight at home. Muskegon's netminder Isaac Reichmuth suffered his ninth loss of the year after leaving the game with injury at 11:20 of the first period. Clayton Pool stopped 19 of 21 shots in relief for the Fury.

Colin Chaulk (C) tallied the game winner while Terry Marchant (C) and Konstantin Shafranov each added tallies for the Komets. It was Shafranov's 100th Fort Wayne career goal and extended his goal scoring streak to four games (6 goals). Marchant now has points in four straight games (2 goals, 5 assists). Winger P.C. Drouin dished an assist for an eight-game point and assist streak (2 goals, 12 assists).

The Komets improve to 22-9-3-1 for 48 points and remain four points ahead of second-place Flint.

The Komets skate at Kalamazoo Saturday night and return home to host the Port Huron IceHawks Sunday at 5pm to complete a 3-game weekend.
