Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings Vs Muskegon Fury Walker Arena Muskegon, MI Saturday, February 1, 2003 7:30 PM

Game Preview The Kalamazoo Wings and the Muskegon Fury will renew their rivalry tonight at the Walker Arena. The meeting will be eighth of ten encounters between the clubs. Even with their loss last night to Port Huron the K-Wings still start play tonight just 2 points out of fourth place in the Western Conference. Kalamazoo will also be looking to avenge their loss the Fury last week at Wings Stadium. In that game, the K-Wings carried a lead in the third period, and for only the second time this season with that scenario, the K-Wings ended up on the losing side of the scoreboard, as the K-Wings lost the game by the final of 6-4.Kalamzoo will also carry a one game road winning streak into tonight's game. Kalamazoo has had recent success away from Wings Stadium, as the K-Wings enter the contest winners of 5 of their last 7 away from Wings Stadium.

Muskegon has been one of the hottest teams in the UHL, as the Fury are 7-4-0 in their last 11 games. The Fury will be looking to start a new winning streak tonight, as their 3 game winning streak was snapped last night in a 5-4 loss to the Missouri River Otters. Muskegon will be without the serves of Josh Burk, Billy Pugliese, Jeff Kozakowski, who will miss the game due to injury. Even with the AHL All-Star Game this weekend, Philippe Plante, who has been on call-up to the Grand Rapids Griffins will most likely not return to the Fury for tonight's game, however his Griffins and Fury teammate Michal Lanicek will return back to Muskegon for tonight's game.
