Countdown to Face-Off: K-Wings at IceMen
Published on March 23, 2013 under ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Tonight will be the 11th of 12 meetings between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Evansville IceMen. On the season, the K-Wings are 6-3-1-0 against their division rivals, which includes a record of 1-3-1-0 at the Ford Center against the IceMen.
Winless in their last four games (0-3-0-1), the K-Wings playoff hopes are hanging by a string. With four games remaining, Kalamazoo will have to win out their remaining games and have either the Florida Everblades, Greenville Road Warriors or the Toledo Walleye lose the remainder of their games.
Like Kalamazoo, Evansville will look to snap a streak this evening. The IceMen come into the game on a three-game losing streak. Tonight is the final home game of the season for Evansville, who is 15-19-0-1 this season at the Ford Center.

Going for .500
With two road games remaining in the regular season, the K-Wings are 15-14-3-2 away from Wings Stadium. A victory in either of the final two road contests, would guarantee a winning record on the road for Kalamazoo.
Power Outage
Kalamazoo's power-play has struggled of late. The K-Wings have scored one power-play goal in their last 25 chances (4%) and are 4-for-46(8.7%) with a man-advantage in the month of March.
Snapping a Streak The K-Wings hit the ice looking to snap a streak. Kalamazoo enters tonight on a four-game (03/16/13-present) winless streak.
Tragic Number
With three playoff spots remaining in the Eastern Conference, Kalamazoo's tragic number for not making the playoff is at one point. The one point can be a combination of a K-Wings loss or victories or overtime/shootout losses from the Florida Everblades, Greenville Road Warriors and Toledo Walleye.
