Prince George Cougars News Release

VICTORIA, BC - The Prince George Cougars (20-34-2-1) are leaving Vancouver Island empty handed. The Victoria Royals (19-34-5-1) completed the weekend sweep on Saturday with their 3-0 victory at Save on Foods Memorial Centre.

The loss, coupled with the Royals' win, drops the Cougars to ninth place in the Western Conference.

Bailey Peach scored all three Royals goals, including an empty-net marker late in regulation. Royals' goaltender Tyler Palmer was excellent again as he stopped all 35 shots fired his way, as he earned his third shutout. Palmer stopped a combined 75 of 77 shots over the two games on the weekend.

Tyler Brennan was solid in the Cougars' crease, as the 18-year-old netminder stopped 25 of 27 shots. Saturday was the first time Prince George was shutout since February 5th.

The Cougars power play, which had scored a goal in each of the last eight games, went 0-4 on Saturday. The penalty kill was 2-2.

Prince George is right back down to Vancouver Island next week, as they face the Royals in another weekend doubleheader starting on Friday, March 25th.
