Regina Pats News Release

Moose Jaw, Sask. - The Regina Pats (23-28-3-2) fell 10-4 to the Moose Jaw Warriors (34-21-3-2) on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.

The Pats gave up a season high tying 10 goals against, as the Warriors had 10 different goal scorers. The Pats gave up four unanswered goals to start the game and were never able to erase anything more than a three goal deficit, giving up three more in the second and another three in the third.

The Pats flip flopped between goaltenders, trying to get something going, as Matthew Kieper started the game, and later replaced Drew Sim in the third after Sim came in for Kieper late in the first, but only lasted one full period.

Their streak of five straight games without a regulation loss comes to an end, falling out of eighth in the Eastern Conference standings after wins from Swift Current and Prince Albert this evening.

Connor Bedard scored his 41st of the season, while extending his point-streak to 20 straight games, which is now the longest in the WHL, and two back of tying the longest by a Pat' in internet era (since 1996-97) as Adam Brooks and Blake Evans had 22 game point-streaks.

Cole Dubinsky scored for a fifth straight contest, tying a career high which was set earlier this season. Braxton Whitehead scored a late goal for the Pats, as four of his eight goals this year have come over his last nine games. Tye Spencer also finished with two points (1G-1A).

Zack Stringer left the game late in the first and did not return.

THEY SAID IT

Assistant Coach Brad Herauf: "I thought we were playing well. They scored three goals on nine shots, then four goals on 12 shots and five goals on 15 shots. I liked the way we played. I liked the way our five-on-five game was going. I didn't like how we managed the puck at times. I thought for the first 25 minutes of the game, even though the score wasn't great, I thought we were taking the play, and holding the play, and implementing our game plan."

UP NEXT

The Pats next game is in Swift Current on Tuesday, March 22.

Their next home game is Saturday, March 26 against the Brandon Wheat Kings.
