Celebrating Oregon's Hockey History
Tonight, we take a look back how the Rose City's unique hockey history and celebrate those who took the ice before us.
We'll be remembering the names, faces and logos that have helped bring hockey to Portland over the years. Arrive early and enjoy unique displays showcasing hockey through the years in the Rose City, from the Rosebuds, to the Buckaroos and now the Winterhawks.
Several members from Lester Patrick Cup Champion Buckaroos teams will be in attendance and recognized during the game, and you can show your love for Portland's hockey history with a Buckaroos hoodie or t-shirt from the Winterhawks team store!
Back in Black
The Hawks return to the VMC in their black sweaters for the first time since January, and very limited quantities of both replica and game-weight black jerseys will be available at the team store! Make sure to arrive early to get your hands on our alternate jersey!
Four-Point Game
Fresh off a big win in Kent last night, the Hawks are looking to create even more separation between themselves and the Thunderbirds with another victory this evening. Portland has built up a five-point cushion to Seattle, but also remains five points shy of Everett for the top spot in the U.S. Division. With fewer than 10 games remaining in Portland's schedule, points are at a premium and a two-game sweep of the Birds would go a long way towards the Hawks' goal of home-ice advantage in the playoffs.
WIN A TOYOTA:
Back for another season, fans 18+ who reside in Oregon or Southwest Washington can ENTER TO WIN a brand new Toyota car, truck, or SUV.
Each game this season, one lucky fan will have their entry drawn and they will have a chance to win our grand prize if they get all five game predictions correct.
Tonight, we are cheering on: Karolyn A. from Portland, OR
What our Hawks fan could win: A brand new Prius
What needs to happen?
Portland Winterhawks (4) beat the Seattle Thunderbirds (1)
Marek Alscher scores the first Winterhawks goal.
Portland goaltenders make 33 total saves.
Seattle goaltenders make 28 total saves.
Good luck tonight, Karolyn!
