The Kelowna Rockets fell 4-0 to the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday night at the Sandman Centre in Kamloops, BC.
The Blazers jumped out to a 3-0 lead through 20 minutes of action; scoring all three goals in different ways, on the power play, at even strength and while short handed. Kamloops added a fourth tally in the final minutes of the third period.
Logan Stankoven (34) opened the games scoring 2:41 into the first while on the power play. Connor Levis (15) chipped in an even-strength tally, while Fraser Minten (18) added a short handed goal.
Dallas Stars prospect Stankoven (35) netted his second goal of the game in the third.
Talyn Boyko made the start for the Rockets, stopping 36 of the 40 shots he faced. Dylan Garand faced 33 shots, turning all of them aside. Both goaltenders are New York Rangers prospects.
The Rockets were zero-for-five on the power play, while the Blazers were one-for-three on the night.
Kelowna's record moves to 34-16-1-5 on the season.
The Rockets will be back in action when they head to Victoria to face the Victoria Royals in back to back games at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Tuesday and Wednesday, puck drop is set for 7:05 both nights. You can watch the games on CHL TV or listen on WHL Live.
The Rockets next home game is Saturday, March 26th when Kelowna will host the Kamloops Blazers for their 14th and final meeting of the regular season. The box office is open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and opens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday home game days.
