Geneva, Illinois - The Kane County Cougars knocked off the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, 8-3, in front of 6,896 fans at Northwestern Medicine Field on Sunday night.

After Tim Susnara doubled, Joey Rose drove Susnara in with a single to make it 2-0. In the seventh, the Cougars broke the game open. After back-to-back walks to start the inning, the next two batters were retired. With runners at first and third and two outs, Yoel Yanqui singled home a run, beginning a string of six consecutive hits for the Cougars. Renae Martinez and Yan Sanchez collected RBI singles. Eduardo Diaz followed with an RBI double and Tim Susnara capped the inning with a run-scoring knock. In all, the Cougars sent 11 batters to the plate and scored six times in the seventh inning.

Erbert Gonzalez hurled an inning of no-run ball, striking out all five batters he retired. Abraham Almonte allowed the homer in the ninth, but recorded the final five outs of the night for the Cougars.
