Kane County Cougars News Release

Geneva, Illinois - All nine Kane County Cougars (31-26) collected at least one hit in a 12-2 rout of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Tuesday night at Northwestern Medicine Field. The Cougars improved to 13-5 in series-opening games this year.

Wisconsin scored two early runs off Cougar starter Ryan Weiss. David Fry's sacrifice fly in the first and Jesus Lujano's RBI fielder's choice in the second made it 2-0 Timber Rattlers.

Rattlers' starter Adam Hill cruised through the first three innings, holding the Cougars hitless. The fourth inning swung the game. Six consecutive Cougars reached to start the frame. After Zack Shannon was hit by a pitch to start the inning, four straight hits followed. Geraldo Perdomo's bases-clearing triple got the Cougars on the board and gave them a 3-2 lead. Keshawn Lynch and Eduardo Diaz collected RBI singles to extend the lead to 5-2 after four.

Shannon led off the fifth with a solo homer. The Cougars went on to score three in the sixth inning and three in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach. RBI doubles by Tra Holmes and Buddy Kennedy highlighted the sixth-inning rally.
