Beloit Sky Carp News Release

BELOIT, WI - In a game that had two Beloit home runs, the Snappers still fell to the Kane County Cougars by a score of 14-5.

Kane County got on the scoreboard first because of a wild pitch by Dustin Driver that let Colin Bray score to put the Cougars up 1-0.

In the bottom of the third, Trent Gilbert gave the Snappers the lead with a three run homer, his first of the season to make it 3-1.

With the bases loaded, Beloit's Corey Miller came into the game to replace Dustin Driver and that is when Kane County really started to light up the Snappers, scoring five runs in the sixth inning. A 2 RBI double by Grant Heyman and a three run homer by Stryker Trahan gave the Cougars the 5-3 lead and they never looked back.

Kane County continued with the fire power in the seventh inning by scoring five more runs to make the score 11-3, this time with Jordan Schwartz pitching, making his first relief appearance of the year.

The Cougars scored three more insurance runs in the top of the ninth inning to make the game, 14-3.

The Snappers attempted to get something going with a two run homer by Jose Brizuela, his second of the year, but it was way too little and way too late.

Obviously, it was a very bad performance by Beloit with two errors and only getting three hits, while the Snappers' pitching staff allowed 20 hits to the Cougars.

The Snappers are 15-23 on the season. They play the Kane Cougars again tomorrow night at 6:30 PM. To buy tickets, stop by the office or call (608) 362-2272. Stay tuned to www.snappersbaseball.com and the Snappers' Facebook and Twitter accounts for all up to date news.
