Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL - The Cougars, in cooperation with Old Second Bank, will be giving fans an extra incentive to arrive early at Elfstrom Stadium this season.
2K Days, sponsored by Old Second Bank, will debut before tomorrow evening's 6 p.m. game (Tuesday, May 13). For each of seven pre-selected games this season, the first 2,000 fans who arrive through the Elfstrom Stadium gates will receive an envelope containing either a cash or non-cash prize.
"Cougars Green" will take on an entirely new meaning as cash prizes will be handed out in various amounts, ranging from $20 to $500 payouts.
Fans who receive an envelope may also be cashing in on their appetites. Lucky vouchers will include traditional ballpark fare such as free hot dogs, sodas and peanuts. Fans will also receive prizes which entitle them to several of the Cougars' new food items, including chicken kabobs, steak pitas, and Maxwell Street polishes.
Those attending 2K Days may also win an opportunity to be a part of the unique fan experience which has drawn nearly eight million people to Cougars games since 1991. Envelopes offering a ceremonial first pitch, assisting Cougars manager Aaron Nieckula in presenting the lineup card to the umpires, and taking the field for the National Anthem with Cougars players are also included as possible prizes.
Other lucky fans will receive free turns at the Cougars KidZone and speed pitch booths, discounted souvenir prices, and free tickets and parking passes.
