CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union kicked off the 2022 MLS season with a 1-1 draw against Minnesota United FC Saturday evening at Subaru Park. Minnesota opened up the scoring in the 23rd minute with a goal by Robin Lod, assisted by Franco Fragapane. The Union responded with a headed goal by Cory Burke in the 35th minute, assisted by center back Jakob Glesnes. The Union outshot Minnesota 19 to 14 but couldn't find the back of the net to give them all three points. Cory Burke scored his first goal of the season, his 19th for the club. Jakob Glesnes recorded his first assist of the season, his 3rd career assist. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded five saves to preserve a point for the Union.
The Union are on the road at Stade Olympique on Saturday, March 5th where they will play CF Montreal (4:00 p.m. ET / PHL17).
