
Conor Bierfeldt Named New York-Penn League Player of the Week

ABERDEEN, MD - The New York-Penn League announced today that Aberdeen IronBirds' Left Fielder Conor Bierfeldt has been named the League's Offensive Player of the Week for August 26th through September 2nd.
Bierfeldt helped the IronBirds go 5-3 during the stretch, batting 11-32 (.344) with nine RBIs and four home runs. He registered a hit in seven of the eight games, and had multiple hits four times. He also had multiple RBIs three times.
His solo home run was the difference in the IronBirds' 1-0 victory over the Hudson Valley Renegades on August 29th, and his home run on Sunday in Brooklyn tied a game the IronBirds would go on to win, 5-4.
Bierfeldt and the IronBirds clinched the McNamara Division title last night with a 7-3 win over the Lowell Spinners. It is the team's first playoff berth in franchise history. The New York-Penn League Playoffs begin Friday, September 6th.
