Condors Vs. Ontario for Teddy Bear Toss - Tonight
November 26, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
The Condors and Reign meet for the third time on the season, with the teams splitting the first two meetings (both of which came in Ontario). Bakersfield is 24-15-3 all-time against the Reign organization, including a dominant 16-4-2 record on home ice.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors held leads of 2-0 and 3-2 in the third period on Wednesday against the Alaska Aces, but ultimately fell in overtime 4-3. C Mathew Sisca tallied twice and LW Matt Marquardt lit the lamp for the Condors, while G Matt Keetley made 33 saves in the loss. It was the first loss for Bakersfield when leading after two periods all season.
The Reign have lost two in a row, both against Stockton, and sit three points ahead of the Condors in the Pacific Division Standings. They have lost three of their last four games. The Reign host the Condors tomorrow to wrap up this home-and-home series.
GETTING "THE GOAL" ON TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT
In Condors history, only one player has scored the teddy bear-launching goal more than once: Paul Rosebush in 2002-03 and 2003-04. Twice the game has gone to the third period before "the goal" was scored, including last season, when Vyacheslav Trukhno ended the longest scoreless drought on TBT Night, with 9:38 left in the game. Eight out of the 12 TBT games saw the big moment come during the first period, and Rosebush's goal in 2002-03 came a record 4:59 into the contest.
CONDORS NOTES
C Mathew Sisca became the fifth Condor to record a multi-goal game on Tuesday. He is 4th among ECHL rookies with 17 points, and tied with his linemate RW Scott Freeman for the rookie lead with 11 assists... F Peter Boyd is tied for the league lead with two
shorthanded goals... The Condors are the only Western Conference team, and one of only three teams in the league that have not been to a shootout this season.
