Jackals Announce Gameday Transactions

Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals announced on Saturday that defenseman Matt Campanale has been returned to the club by its AHL affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Additionally, the B-Sens have recalled forwards Louie Caporusso and Jack Downing from the Jackals. Elmira hosts Reading tonight at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena.
Campanale, a rookie from Phoenixville, Pa. has an assist in two games with the Jackals this season. He was acquired by Elmira from Bakersfield on Nov. 11 in exchange for future considerations. Campanale was loaned by Elmira to Binghamton on Friday.
Caporusso, a rookie from Woodbridge, Ontario has a goal and seven assists for eight points with Elmira this season. He is scoreless in six games with the B-Sens in 2011-2012.
Downing has two goals and two assists for four points in five games with the Jackals in 2011-2012. The rookie from New Canaan, Conn. has one assist in 11 games with Binghamton this season.
The Jackals have also re-signed defenseman Stephen Mallaro to a standard player contract. Mallaro has skated in three games with the Jackals this season. The Syracuse, N.Y. native has three goals in seven games for the FHL's Danbury Whalers in 2011-2012.
