November 26, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release

Las Vegas - Taking an early lead in the first period, the Las Vegas Wranglers maintained that advantage to collect a 3-2 win against the Stockton Thunder in California tonight.

Five minutes into the first period, Wranglers defenseman Mike Hoffman tallied his first goal of the season to give Las Vegas a 1-0 lead. At the 14:44 mark, forward Robbie Smith secured the second Wranglers goal of the night with help from defensemen Mike Madill and Barry Goers to put Las Vegas up 2-0 at the end of the period. Scoring belonged to the Stockton Thunder in the second period, though, as left wing Garet Hunt earned the sole goal of the frame. With assists from defensemen Tony DeHart and Colten Hayes, Stockton brought the score to 2-1 after 40 minutes of play.

With what would become the game-winning goal in the third, Wranglers forward Eric Lampe scored on a power play with center Adam Miller and forward Ryan Weston on the assists. Thunder defenseman Nathan Deck collected a Stockton goal two minutes later with help from right wing Jesse Fratkin and defenseman Cameron Brodie, but it wasn't enough to close the gap, giving the Wranglers a 3-2 win on the road. Smith and Hoffman each received Three Star marks in tonight's game, and Wranglers goaltender Joe Fallon saved 37 shots.

The Wranglers face the Thunder tomorrow night in Stockton before returning home to play the Idaho Steelheads on Friday, Dec. 2, at Orleans Arena with a puck drop and the return of the Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Sunrise Acres Elementary School at 7:05 p.m. Tonight's full box score can be found here.
