Express Fall Short in OT, 3-2

Trenton, NJ - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, xxxx at the Sun National Bank Center on Saturday Night.

The Titans drew first blood after penalties to D Josh Burrows and F Bobby Robins saw the Express on the short end of a 5-on-3. With the two-man advantage, LW Andy Bohmbach slid a pass through the Chicago goal crease and F Dustin Cameron redirected the pass into the net at 7:34 of the first period. The Titans protected the 1-0 score into the first intermission.

Trenton continued to lead in the game, also scoring the only goal of the second period. After a shot from LW Randy Rowe was directed behind the net by Chicago G Rob Nolan, F Denny Kearney got to the rebound and fed a quick pass to Bohmbach who one-timed the puck into the back of the net at 7:44.

The Express found their offense in the third period. With 6:43 left to go in the third, D Evan Stephens fired a shot through traffic and beat G Dave Caruso for the first Chicago goal of the game. RW Chaz Johnson followed up with a 5-on-3 goal 2:22 later to extend his scoring streak to three games, and evening the score at 2-2.

Trenton was able to break through in overtime, as Rob Bordson tipped a pass from Kearney for the win 2:20 left in overtime.
