Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors announced today they have traded D Luis Tremblay to the Texas Wildcatters for F Andrew Ianiero.

Ianiero, 24, returns to the Condors after one year away from Bakersfield. The 6'1", 201 lb. forward suited up for 59 games with the Condors in 2003-04, recording 18 goals and 38 assists.

Ianiero spent the following season as the ironman for the Wildcatters, appearing in all 72 regular season games for Texas. He recorded a line of 20 goals, 37 assists and 57 points in 2004-05 and was 2nd on the team in points as he led the team in assists.

This will be Andrew's fourth season in professional hockey, all of which has been spent in the ECHL. His previous stints included 44 games with Dayton, 16 games with Augusta and 3 games with Charlotte. Ianiero has twice been selected as an ECHL All-Star: with Dayton in 2002-03 and with Bakersfield in 2003-04.

Tremblay played in 68 games for Bakersfield during his rookie season last year, posting 2 goals and 22 assists during the regular season. He posted a plus-minus rating of +7 in 2004-05 and assisted on 9 power-play goals. Tremblay dressed for all five of Bakersfield's contests in the 2005 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

"Luis went to work out with the Kings, and it didn't pan out like he hoped," said Condors Head Coach Marty Raymond. "We want to help give Luis his best chance to reach the AHL. We also wanted to help ourselves out by bringing in Andrew. He's been here before and knows what's expected to win. He has some ties to the Bakersfield area and we're happy to have him back."

Ianiero joins Scott Borders, Mike Hofstrand, Kevin Kotyluk, Reagan Leslie, Michel Massie, Oriel McHugh, Nate Metcalf, Andrew Oke, Anders Olsson, Justin Quenneville, Kevin St. Jacques, Oscar Stenberg and Sean Venedam on the ice for 2005-06 season, bringing the current roster total to 14.

The Bakersfield Condors season opens in 46 days on October 22nd at home against the Victoria Salmon Kings.
