Condors Team Up With Houchin Blood Bank

March 20, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Condors and Houchin Blood Bank have teamed up once again for their monthly blood drive to bring hope to those in need and to help save the lives of thousands of people in Kern County. March 1 kicked off the Condors Blood Drive Month at the Houchin Community Blood Banks, located at 5901 Truxtun Ave. and 2600 G St. All participants who donate blood this month at either one of the two locations will receive $1 terrace admission to the Condors game on Wednesday, March 28, courtesy of 107.9 KUZZ.

Need a Condors player to get your blood flowing? On Thursday, March 22, Scott Borders and Scott Balan will be at Houchin Community Blood Bank on Truxtun Ave., from 5:30-7p.m., for a donor meet and greet. A free Condors T-shirt will be given out to the first 100 people who donate blood that day.

All donors who give blood in March (by March 28) will be entered into a drawing to win:

An autographed Condors jersey

"Best seat in the house" tickets provided by R&D Leather Furniture for the March 28 game

The opportunity to drop the puck at the game on March 28

Traditionally, this blood drive brings in over 500 donations for the blood needs of our community, which is a tremendous help to our local Blood Bank. This drive is extremely important for Houchin as donations are unusually low for the month of March. In fact, Houchin Blood Bank is currently at 50% of inventory. Hospitals are requesting blood faster than they can replenish it. Don't miss your chance to help save a life! To learn more about becoming a donor, please contact Tracy Hunter at 323-4222.

The Condors next game is this Wednesday against Fresno, with game-time set for 7 p.m. It'll be a CW Bakersfield and Big 96.5 Radio High School/College ID Night, with all college and high school students receiving $1 executive level admission when presenting their student ID. It's also another Mercy & Memorial Hospitals and ARRC Technology THINK Night, which allows students to earn terrace tickets to the game through exceptional academic and behavioral performance. The Department of Human Services is also presenting a special shoe collection where fans can receive $1 terrace admission by donating a pair of new or gently used shoes.

Friday will be a showdown for first place against the Las Vegas Wranglers with the game again beginning at 7 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Condors cap courtesy of Pulte Homes and KUZZ 107.9.

Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com or at any TicketMaster location. Season tickets, mini plans and group outings are also available at the Condors office located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue or by calling 324- PUCK (7825).
