Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -The Bakersfield Condors (34-25-2-1, 71pts) earned their second straight third period come-from-behind victory over the Idaho Steelheads (28-22-4-8, 68pts), #WINNING 2-1 on Charlie Sheen Night in front of 5,501 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night.
Despite strong offensive presence by Bakersfield in the first period, the Steelheads scored the lone goal of the frame. During four-on-four
action, F Aki Seitsonen snapped a puck over the shoulder of G Brian Stewart to give Idaho a 1-0 lead. The Condors outshot the Steelheads 12-4 to start the contest.
Neither team scored in an evenly matched second period, but the Condors evened up the score at 1-1 early in the third. F Bobby Robins found a rebound off a shot from LW Guillaume Lefebvre to beat G Kris Westblom at 3:08 of the frame. For the second straight game, the Condors power play provided the game winner when Lefebvre banged home his 8th of the season, sliding a puck off the outstretched leg of Westblom at 10:22. Idaho poured on pressure during the final minutes, but Stewart sparkled in net for the Condors to lift the team to their 5th straight win and earn a three game sweep over the Steelheads.
The Condors jumped ahead of Idaho in the Western Conference and are now tied with Stockton for third in the Conference.
