ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that forward Dusty Collins has been called-up to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League and that defenseman Kyle Lawson along with forward Brad Snetsinger have been assigned to the team from the AHL.
Collins, who was acquired by the Everblades on Friday in a trade with Ontario, made his Everblades debut last night in Florida's 4-3 overtime win, but heads to Toronto today. The 26-year-old has extensive American Hockey League experience, including 10 games in the AHL this season with the San Antonio Rampage (7 GP) and Manitoba Moose (3 GP). With Ontario and Florida in the ECHL this season the Gilbert, Arizona native has collected 26 points (9g, 17a) and 70 penalty minutes in 50 games.
Lawson returns to the Everblades after a month-long stint in Charlotte with the Checkers. The call-up to Charlotte was the third one this season for Lawson and saw him skate in 13 games. The New Hudson, Michigan native has now seen action in 18 games with Charlotte this season.
Lawson has skated in 41 games with the Everblades this season picking up nine assists and 38 penalty minutes. The 24-year-old is in his first full professional season although he did make his pro debut in 2009-10 playing in 10 games with the Albany River Rats of the AHL where he tallied one assist.
Snetsinger is set to make his Everblades debut today after playing in seven games with the Binghamton Senators, where he recorded one goal. In the ECHL this season the 23-year-old has combined to record 44 points (16g, 28a) and 50 PIM in 52 games with Utah and Bakersfield.
The Ajax, Ontario native, who's brother Ed also skated for the Everblades this season, began the 2010-11 campaign in Utah where he tallied 23 points (10g, 13a) in 26 games with the Grizzlies. After he was acquired by Bakersfield he saw action in 26 games with the Condors registering 21 points (6g, 15a).
