
Condors snap skid with 2-1 win against Vegas on Monday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors got on track with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against the Las Vegas Wranglers at home on Monday, ending a four-game skid. The Condors now hit the road for a five-game trip, starting Friday in Ontario.
The Condors are 3-6-1 on the season, and in 5th place in the Pacific Division, with seven points on the season. The Fresno Falcons hold the early division lead with 12 points.

After a scoreless first period, in which G Dave McKee (left) made 17 saves, Victoria opened the scoring midway through the second to take a 1-0 lead. RW Sean O'Connor scored twice, one an empty-net goal, in the third period to account for the 3-0 final. McKee finished the game with 45 saves on 47 shots, but picked up the loss.
Friday, Nov. 7
LAS VEGAS 4 vs. Condors 2
The Condors battled back twice to tie the score during the first trip to Las Vegas this season, but the Wranglers pushed in front for good late in the second period and held on for the win. LW Mark Derlago and D Tyler Scott (right) lit the lamp for Bakersfield, while G Dave McKee made 23 saves.
Saturday, Nov. 8
Fresno 5 vs. CONDORS 2

After the Falcons opened the scoring in the first period, F Matt Pope (left) provided the offense for the Condors early in the second, scoring a pair of goals only 19 seconds apart. However, Fresno responded with four unanswered goals the rest of the way, one of the empty-net variety, en route to the 5-2 win. G Ryan Nie made his Condors debut, stopping 20 of 24 shots in the loss.
Monday, Nov. 10
CONDORS 2 vs. Las Vegas 1

The Condors dominated early and battled Las Vegas the rest of the way to earn a gritty 2-1 win on home ice. C Dave Bonk (right) put the Condors ahead when he chipped in a power play goal in the opening frame. Bakersfield out-shot Vegas 18-6 in the period. After the Wranglers tied it in the second, F Matt Pope notched his sixth of the year on the power play, banking the puck off a Vegas defenseman into the back of the net. G Dave McKee made 17 third-period saves, and 34 overall, for the win.
Condors acquire defenseman:
The Condors made a trade on Monday, picking up D Ryan Mahrle (MAHR-lee) from the Gwinnett Gladiators in exchange for future considerations. Mahrle had 1g-3a in eight games this season for Gwinnett, with a power play goal.
PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:
The Condors lead the league in overall attendance at 42,968, and are the first team to reach 40,000 fans this season. Bakersfield is also 3rd in the league in average attendance at 6,138.
The Condors killed off all 11 Las Vegas power plays Monday night, and have successfully killed 24 of their opponents' last 26 advantages. Bakersfield's penalty kill is 11th in the ECHL at 81.8%.
G Dave McKee (right) is 4th in the league with 229 saves and 448 minutes in net. In his last three games, he has stopped 102 of 109 shots for a .936 save percentage.
F Matt Pope leads the team with nine points, is tied for the team lead with six goals, and is 2nd in the league, and 1st among rookies, with a 42.9% shooting percentage (6 goals on 14 shots). He has scored three goals in the last two games.
C Dave Bonk and RW Chad Painchaud (right) lead the team with six assists apiece. Bonk is tied for 2nd on the team with LW Mark Derlago with eight points.
Painchaud had two assists in Monday's win, for his second multi-assist game of the year.
After starting the season with seven of their first 10 games on home ice, the Condors will play on the road in each of the next five games and in 14 of their next 17 games.
D Martin Frechette was placed on the 3-IR on Sunday and will be eligible to be activated on Wednesday, while RW Liam Huculak remains on the 7-IR and will be eligible to be activated on Friday.
GAMES THIS WEEK:
The Condors take to the road for the next five contests, including three this weekend. They start Friday night with their second trip this season to Ontario. Game time is 7 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 15, they head up the road to play the Fresno Falcons. Game time is 7:35 p.m. The Condors conclude the weekend three-in-three in Stockton against the Thunder at 4 p.m.

RAIDERETTES IN CONDORSTOWN:
The Condors will return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22 to host the Phoenix RoadRunners. That night, the Oakland Raiderettes come to town, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, 98.5 The Fox and Cal Water. They will perform during the intermissions, sign autographs and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth throughout the evening.
It will also be Advertiser Appreciation Night at The Nest, with all advertisers receiving complimentary tickets to the game. Additionally, it will be an ABC23 and SC Architect Condors Classroom Champions Night, during which students who achieve outstanding attendance levels receive a complimentary ticket to the game.
Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m. In addition to being broadcast on ESPN Radio 1230, B2 Networks and Bakersfieldcondors.com, the Nov. 22 game will be televised live on Bright House Networks Ch. 21, and available On Demand on Ch. 300 starting the following day.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
