Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors wrap up their homestand on the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena with games this Wednesday against the Las Vegas Wranglers and this Friday against the Phoenix Roadrunners. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m. both nights. Wednesday vs. Las Vegas Wranglers: The Condors look to make up ground on the Las Vegas Wranglers in the Pacific Division standings when they meet the Wranglers for High School and College ID Night, sponsored by 106.1 KRAB Radio and Valley Air District. High school and college students receive $1 lower-bowl admission (while seats last) by presenting their student ID at the box office when purchasing tickets. Now, cash-strapped students no longer have to choose between buying text books and enjoying Condors hockey - they can have both!

Plus, during the first intermission, Army Captain Brett Ivester will swear in over a dozen Army recruits during the United States Army Swearing-In Ceremony at center ice. During the second intermission, one lucky fan will shoot to win a Condors jersey and the Chuck-A-Puck grand prize is up to $150.

Friday vs. Phoenix RoadRunners: On Friday night, the Condors will take on the Phoenix RoadRunners for the first-ever Condors Soap Dispenser Giveaway, sponsored by KBFX-FOX 58 and Cal Water. The first 2,000 fans, 12-and-under, will receive a Condors soap dispenser in the image of the leader of the Condors Army, Colonel Claw'd. Kids will have fun washing their hands and staying germ free with this cool item, sure to be a centerpiece around sinks all over Condorstown!

Officer Dennis Eddy of the Bakersfield Police Department will serve as the honorary puck dropper prior to the start of the game. Eddy was shot in the line of duty last February, which resulted in the loss of his lower right leg. Officer Eddy returned to full duty with the BPD last month.

During the second intermission, one lucky fan will be able to Shoot the Puck, Win the Truck, for the Condors one-of-a-kind 2008 Chevy Silverado, complete with Condors customizations on the interior and exterior, courtesy of 3-Way Chevrolet. If that contestant doesn't win, then one fan will be drawn to win the truck if a Condors player records a hat trick all in the third period.

Autograph Booth: On Wednesday night, Dave Bonk and Chad Painchaud will be at the Bakersfield Marriott Autograph Booth, and Friday night's Autograph Booth will feature Brett Pilkington and Bruce Graham. The Autograph Booth is located on the arena concourse behind section 108. The players will arrive at the booth approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the game to meet fans and sign autographs.

You can catch all Condors games, home and away, on ESPN Radio 1230 and online through B2 Networks by clicking the "Watch and Listen Live" link on the Condors home page. Live streaming audio for all Condors games is also available at no cost via the website, www.bakersfieldcondors.com.
