BOISE, Idaho ¾ As the Steelheads hit the half-way point of the 2008-09 season, fans have only one chance in the next month to see the team play at home. That game, no. 36 of the 72 game season, comes Wednesday night (Jan. 14) against the Utah Grizzlies. The puck drops at 7:10 pm at Qwest Arena.

Because of the scheduling changes after the Fresno Falcons ceased operations, the games previously scheduled for Friday and Saturday (Jan. 16 and 17) have been cancelled. Make up games are slated to be played at Qwest Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 24 and Tuesday, March 31.

FAMILIAR FOE The game this week marks the sixth game Utah has played at Qwest Arena this season, and will be the eighth meeting for the two teams in 2008-09...the Steelheads will play Utah a total 15 times before the season is done; the most against any opponent in one season since the Steelheads joined the ECHL in 2003-04.

Idaho is 20-13-1-1, while the Grizzlies are 14-14-4-2. Head-to-head, they are:

GET IN THE GAME AT HOOTERS The Bud Light Idaho Steelheads Hockey Show is going on the road and will be at Hooters every Monday when the team is in town. Fans are invited to stop by and meet Steelheads players and Coach Laxdal, and have the chance to win Steelheads prizes. Tonight - Monday, Jan. 12 is the first ‘on location' date.

The Steelheads are once again teaming up with Hooters to host watch parties for select Steelheads road games. Stay tuned as dates will be announced soon.
