The Week That Was...
The South Carolina Stingrays had three games this week. Plagued by call-ups the Stingrays finished the week 0-2-0-1.
First, the Charlotte Checkers came to the North Charleston Coliseum. The Stingrays battled back from a 3-1 and 4-2 deficit to tie the game at 4 going into the third period, but Charlotte scored three unanswered goals in the third to win 7-4. It was the most goals allowed by the Stingrays this season. Ian Vigier stopped 20 shots in the loss and Spencer Carbery scored his first goal as a Stingray.
On Thursday, the team traveled to Gwinnett. In another come-from-behind attempt, the Rays scored three unanswered goals to tie the game at four and force overtime. After a scoreless extra period, the Gladiators managed to score on two shootout attempts to win the game 5-4. Bobby Goepfert was in net for the Rays and Maxime Lacroix had two goals in the loss.
Saturday afternoon brought the Stingrays to Charlotte. In a very back-and-forth game which saw Dubuc score his team-leading 20th game of the season, the Checkers defeated the Rays 4-3. Michal Neuvrith back for his first game since suffering a lower body injury stopped 24 shots.
