Ontario Reign Host OFD versus NYFD Charity Hockey Game on Saturday

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs will bring the fire to the ice as they host a charity hockey match-up between the Ontario and New York Fire Departments on Saturday, January 17, at 3 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Proceeds from the event will help benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation and the Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome organization.

The two teams will meet in sunny Southern California after the New York Fire Department flies nearly 3,000 miles to match-up against the Ontario Fire Department. The teams have played against each other in tournaments since 1991, but decided to face-off for charity this season to help raise funds and awareness for two great causes. Each team's roster boasts 14 players, some having played in semi-professional leagues, with ages ranging from 28 to 65-years old on the Ontario team.

"The firefighters have always been a part of 'Fill the Boot' and have partnered with the Muscular Dystrophy Fund for years," Firefighter and Captain of the OFD team Rich Grimm said. "We are raising money for a well known charity and a rare disease to help (increase awareness). It will be a good, competitive hockey game, with a chance to help a great cause. We are extremely excited that the Ontario Reign and the Citizens Business Bank Arena are working with us to help pull this great event together."

Reign fans can purchase tickets for a special price of $10, which will gain them admission into the charity game at 3 p.m. and the Reign vs. Grizzlies game at 7 p.m., with $4 from the sale of each ticket going back to the charitable organizations. The Muscular Dystrophy Association will be on hand selling t-shirts and fans will have the opportunity to win a 52-inch plasma television during the 50/50 raffle at the Reign game. The $10 ticket offer is good through Friday, January 16 and must be purchased in advance via the Reign front office. The special ticket offer is not available at the Citizens Business Bank Arena box office.

REIGN DROPS
The Reign head to Phoenix to take on the Roadrunners, Wednesday, January 14, at US Airways Center. Puck drops at 6:05 p.m. (PST). The Reign are back on home ice at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday, January 16, and Saturday, January 17, as they face-off against the Utah Grizzlies. Doors open at 6 p.m. Puck drops at 7 p.m

Saturday, January 17, is also the Reign's first Bobblehead giveaway! The first 5,000 fans at the Reign vs. Grizzlies game will receive a Reign bobblehead featuring the Dragon Mascot! In addition, the winner of the "Name the Mascot" contest will be announced and the dragon will receive his name!
