Elmira, NY- After picking up a weekend split with the Johnstown Chiefs, the Elmira Jackals look forward to five games before the All-Star break. This midweek match up with Dayton will be the first of the season. Tickets are still available for Tuesday and Wednesdays 7:35 p.m. action by calling (607) 734-PUCK.

11th All Time Match Up: Last season the Jackals met up with the Bombers 10 times. The Jackals compiled a 7-2-0-1 record against Dayton, including a 3-1-0-1 mark at home.

Points on a Premium: This is one of the bigger series of the season. The Jackals currently occupy fifth place in the North Division with a (17-15-1-3) record. The Bombers are on the edge in third place in the North with a (20-13-1-3) record. There is an 11 point swing from 1st to 5th in the division. The Jackals are only three points out of 4th, six points out of 3rd eights points out of 2nd and 11 points out of 1st.

Unfamiliar for Now: Both hockey clubs are (5-4-1-0) in their past ten games. The Jackals have compiled a (9-6-0-2) mark at home while the Bombers are (11-6-1-0) on the road. These teams will match up in Dayton for the first time on the 27th of January. Six of the Jackals last 18 games of the season will be with Dayton.

Jackals Top Dogs: Jackals forward Chris Korchinski has netted 18 points in 23 games since being traded from Las Vegas, he sits 5th in the Jackals scoring chase. Leading the race is ECHL All-Star Josh Aspenlind (12g 20a=32pts), Steve Yetman is second in scoring with (16g 13a=29pts), Pierre-Luc Faubert and Benoit Doucet each have 24 points.

Bombers Top Guns: Former Jackal Mike McLean has 12 points in his past seven games, his 37 points lead the team. Dan Riedel sits in second with (14g 21a=35 pts) and Jarrett Lukins' (16g 18a=34 pts) are good enough for third.

In Goal: Elmira goaltender Mitch O'Keefe is still in Binghamton with the B-Sens, so David Shantz will again be the last line of defence. Shantz has compiled an (8-5-1-1) record to accompany a 2.51 GAA and a 0.908 save percentage. The Bombers crease keepers have split time, putting up similar numbers. Tyler Plante has 14 games played with a 3.21 GAA and a 0.898 save percentage while Paul Drew has compiled a 3.14 GAA and a 0.892 save percentage in 16 games.
