Bakersfield Condors News Release
Victoria, B.C. - The Bakersfield Condors (29-25-2-1, 61pts) were blanked by the Victoria Salmon Kings (27-27-1-2, 57pts) and G David Shantz 3-0 in front of 3,211 fans at Save-On-Foods Memorial Center Wednesday night.
The Salmon Kings struck for the only goal of a cat-and-mouse first period. With the Condors short 5-3, D Ryan Turek accepted a pass and blasted a shot past G Brian Stewart, putting Victoria up 1-0 at intermission.
Victoria's stifling defense kept the Condors to just four shots in the third, giving the Salmon Kings time to double their lead. with 41 seconds left in the middle frame, RW Matt Stefanishion blasted home a one-timer right as a power play expired, bringing to score to 2-0.
RW Milan Gajic put the final nail in the coffin with 1:07 remaining in the game as he tapped in an empty netter putting the Salmon Kings up 3-0. The Condors had 10 shots in the third, but were unable to solve Shantz.
